New Jawa cruiser will rival Royal Enfield’s Meteor and other motorcycles in this space. It appears different than Perak…
Classic Legends, the owner of Jawa, BSA and Yezdi brands, has been in the news of late mainly due to Yezdi’s resurrection. Recently, it has revealed its launch date as well.
However, it is not leaving its Jawa brand unattended. There will be new models under Jawa as well and this appears to be one of them. What you see on this page is a full camouflaged cruiser that will, in all probability, be marketed under the Jawa brand.
Presently, Jawa has three offerings in the Indian market – Jawa, 42 and Perak- and it is expected that Jawa will add at least two more bikes to their line-up.
The latest spy-shots, shared by an online portal, reveal some interesting details about the cruiser. The bike is sporting classic cruiser dynamics with low seating, high and wide handle-bars, centrally-mounted foot-pegs and longer wheel-base. The cruiser look is further highlighted by the round headlamp, circular rear-view mirrors, long body-length exhaust pipe and broad fenders.
The Jawa Cruiser could be powered by the specifically tuned 334 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC engine, which in the Perak, produces around 30 BHP and 32.74 Nm. It could continue with the same 6-speed gearbox as well.
But unlike the bobber Perak, this model is running on conventional telescopic forks at the front combined with twin shock absorbers at the rear. We see single disc brakes at both ends and expect dual-channel ABS on this model. To maintain the retro charm, it may come with a part-digital-part-analog instrumentation.
Other than these details, more information is not available as of now. There is a special unveil event scheduled on the 13th of January where Yezdi is making its comeback. There is a bleak possibility that Classic Legends may also talk about this upcoming model from the company.
