New Hyosung GT650R Unveiled at EICMA; India Launch Expected Next Year

Along with other very interesting new motorcycles like GD450, bigger GT300R, Aquila 300 etc at the EICMA, Hyosung also showcased the refreshingly new sports GT650R. Along with new looks, Hyundai has also worked on its mechanicals and the motorcycle continues to charm with its big bike looks!

The 90 degree V-twin 647 cc engine now produces 74.4 PS (up from 73.7 PS) of maximum power and 54.4 Nm of peak torque, a reduction from 60.9 Nm (WHY?). The good news, however is that it is expected to be lighter and hence the power/torque to weight ratio is expected to nullify or better!

In terms of appearance, the new GT650R gets a new twin head lamp assembly which looks so Korean! The fuel tank is smaller in size in terms of looks as well as volume. It can hold 15 liters of fuel which is 2 liters less than the current version but designwise is more aerodynamic.

Pictures here also reveal that the bike gets petal discs which adds to the looks. The seats too have been redesigned and will hopefully be slightly more comfortable for the pillion. The long and thick exhaust canister has not changed much and continues to be an elongated sweeping unit!

The smooth flowing curves of the new GT650R are more upto the times which end with a pointed tail. Then we have the new new multi-spoke alloy wheels.
