Duke 390 Has a Rival – 50PS Hyosung GD450 Unveiled – Looks a Cracker! [EICMA 2015] – Updated

So, believe in motoring rumors! Hyosung was speculated to bring out a near 400 cc motorcycle under the GD brand and the secret was made public at the EICMA with the unveiling of the GD450 – the naked streetfighter and boy.. she looks a cracker!

Although still in a prototype stage, the Hyosung GD450 gets a liquid cooled single cylinder, DOHC mill displacing 449 cc. The power output has been rated at 50 PS at 7,500 rpm and it churns out a maximum torque of 47.7 Nm at 7,000 rpm. With all the ammo, the naked GD weighs just 145 kg dry and gets 41 mm upside down forks at the front. The wheelbase has been kept at 1,360 mm, which is shorter than Duke 390.

Braking duties are administered by a 300 mm single petal disc with 4 opposed piston radial callipers upfront and a 230 mm single petal disc at the rear with two piston callipers. The ground clearance is 145 mm and the bike makes do with only an 11 liter fuel tank!

Whatever Hyosung is doing internationally, expect at least the smaller to mid capacity machines to percolate to our market via their exclusive Indian partner DSK.

If DSK Hyosung can build up on localisation levels and launch the GD450 at some aggressive price points here, we can, for the first time, have a proper rival against the Duke 390.
