New Motorcycle Launch in Dominar Range Within 5 Months: Rajiv Bajaj

New Dominar launch will widen the brand’s potential reach…

Like most of the other brands, it is already known that Bajaj will expand the Dominar range into multiple products, as they have done with their fast-selling Pulsar range. However, unlike Pulsar which starts from 135cc, we believe Dominar will continue to be the most premium brand for the company in whichever segment they play in. For example, if there is ever a 200 cc Dominar, we expect it to be placed over all others, including Pulsar!

New Dominar Launch Timeframe

Nonetheless, with the first product Dominar 400 already out in the market and received fairly decently, it is then time for the next. Yes, according to Economic Times, Rajiv Bajaj, in the latest AGM (Annual General Meeting), announced that the company will launch new product(s) in all its brands including Dominar. The timeline he has given is ‘by’ December this year – that is, within five months we should have the next Dominar on the roads.

This is in continuation with an earlier report which first hinted about the product. However, what capacity would it be or what form will it spawn or which niche will it compete in is not known at this point of time but I get a feeling that it will be an aggressive (priced) motorcycle.

Why am I saying this is because the current Dominar 400 has underperformed as was also accepted by one Bajaj’s top official recently. And the kind of a brand Bajaj intends to make Dominar as (they expect it to clock 10,000 unit sales as soon as possible) it will take a radical product to seek attention of enthusiasts.

Dominar Scrambler?

There are rumours that next Dominar could be a scrambler but nothing can be ascertained at this point of time! I would, however, like to see an adventure tourer considering the fact that there are not many (reasonably powered/priced) ADVs expected anytime soon and the Himalayan has turned out to be terrible in terms of quality. By the way, if the launch is in the coming few months, spy shots should start coming in soon… so be on the hunt (and get prizes)!
