The video teaser reveals a new RS motorcycle and auto pundits claim that it could well be the Pulsar RS160
Bajaj Auto has released a new teaser video of the upcoming RS motorcycle, reportedly the 2025 Pulsar RS200, on its official Instagram channel. The new teaser confirms the launch of the new Bajaj bike in India before Jan 10, 2025. A section of media claims that it could well be the Pulsar RS160 which could be positioned below the RS200 in the brand’s portfolio. Bajaj Auto has not officially confirmed the new model but it will be interesting to see whether it plans to update the existing RS200 or introduce the all-new RS160.
The new teaser boasts of a cryptic caption which reads, “Congratulations Maniacs! We are nearly there! 0X-01-2025!” The date format indicates a single-digit date and hence it is confirmed that the new bike will launch this week between Jan 6-9 in the country. We can see in the video that the teased RS motorcycle flaunts an identical front fascia as the RS200 with elements like projector headlamp and LED DRLs. In fact, the side profile and fuel tank also appear to be retained from the RS200.
However, the rear profile has been updated and it appears that the standard dragon tail LED tail-lamp cluster might make way for an all-new unit. The rear tyre too looks sleeker, suggesting that it could well be the RS160. If it indeed turns out to be the Pulsar RS160, then it is safe to assume that multiple elements will be shared with the Pulsar N160 to keep the costs in check.
The new Bajaj Pulsar RS160 could be equipped with USD front forks and a mono-shock unit at rear. There will be disc brakes at front and rear alongside a single-channel ABS as standard. The Pulsar N160 rides on 130/80 section front tyre and 130/70 section rear tyre and these are expected on the RS160 as well. The digital instrument cluster will also be sourced from the N160 with features like Bluetooth connectivity, Navigation and Call & message notifications. The instrument console will also display Smartphone network and fuel economy to the rider.
Mechanically, if it is the Pulsar RS160, then it will draw power from the NS160’s 164.82 cc petrol engine. This engine develops top power of 16 bhp and peak torque of 14.65 Nm with the Pulsar N160. The gearbox will also be carried over from the N160.
The prospects of a semi-faired 160cc Bajaj RS motorcycle look much brighter than just updating the existing RS200 model with new features and a few visual enhancements. Bajaj Pulsar RS 160, upon its launch in India, will lock horns with Yamaha R15.
