New Avenger Steet 220 & Cruise 220 Launched at Rs 84000

Bajaj has finally launched the new Avenger series in India and this time it has grown from one model to a full-fledged line-up of three motorcycle variants catering to different tastes. Building on the new international styling package and growing demand for motorcycles for leisure biking, the Pune based manufacturer aims to increase the sales of their Avenger brand.

The Avenger range now includes the Cruise 220 and Street 220 along with the new offering Street 150. We have talked about the Avenger Street 150 here.

The Cruise 220 is your regular Avenger with with dollops of chrome whereas the Street 220 looks fresher and something different with modern styling cues and an all-black finish, and yes it does look inspired from the Harley Street 750. Both the Avenger 220s carry a price tag of Rs 84,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).

At 155 kg, the Cruise is 5 Kg heavier than Street and both of them boast of a ground clearance of 169 mm! Braking duties are administered by 260 mm disc at the front and 130 mm drum set up at the rear. The fuel tank can store 14 litres of petrol.

Both the bikes sport new insignia and graphics, clear lens indicators and thicker density foam on low slung seats. The company also claims to have improved the rear suspension, but a rear disc brake continues to be missed even as an option. The instrumentation console gains a new mix of analogue and digital layout.
