Breaking: Dominar 250 Launched at 1.6 Lac; 7 Kilos Lighter Than Dom 400

New Dominar 250 price is Rs 30,000+ lesser than the Dominar 400 which will make it a compelling buy for long distance tourers, believes Bajaj…

Finally, after a series of spy pics, Bajaj has officially announced the launch of its entry level Dominar 250. The quarter liter Dominar is being promoted as the entry into the sports touring portfolio of Bajaj, which also has the Dominar 400 as the flagship.

Dominar 250 is powered by the 248.77 cc, liquid cooled, 4-valve, fuel injected engine from the KTM 250 Duke. It comes with Bajaj’s twin spark technology and double overhead camshaft (DOHC) and produces 27 PS of peak power at 8500 rpm and 23.5 Nm of max torque at 6500 rpm. Bajaj is claiming a top speed of 132 kmph with a zero to 100 kph sprint in 10.5 seconds.

It also carries over upside down front forks, LED headlamps and the overall design from the Dominar 400. Which means that the double barrel exhaust of the new 2019 Dominar 400 has also gone to the 250 as well – it helps in producing heavier bass and a throaty exhaust note.

There are bungee straps tucked under the seat to secure your luggage during long distance rides. There is a secondary display which shows trip info and time. On offer is a dual channel ABS system which works in conjunction with 300 mm front disc brakes plus a 230 mm rear rotor.

Fuel tank capacity of the Dominar 250 is 13 liters and it weighs 180 kilos kerb which will be seven kilograms lighter than the Dominar 400 BS6 (you can check Dom 400 BS6’s leaked specs here).
