The wait is over guys – we have received the official invite and KTM Bajaj is launching the RC390 and also the RC200 on the 9th of September. Yes, you read that right; as we shared a few days back, both the RCs are getting launched together!
The naked 200 and 390 Dukes have continued to give sleepless nights to all Indian motorcycles between the INR 1-4 lakh price bracket and now their faired twins are all set to enjoy an even vulgar degree of sadism.
A quick spec-comparison between the Duke 390 and the RC 390 tells us that though they are identical mechanically the wheelbase of the RCs is shorter and the 66.5-degree steering head angle is also steeper than the Dukes’ 65 degrees. Sharper steering geometry will translate into even better flickability and quicker turn-ins.
Also, the ground clearance of the RCs has gone up by 8.5 mm than the Dukes’, which means that you would be able to further lean the bike into corners. The seat height of both the faired siblings, at 820 mm, is even more than the Duke 200’s (810 mm against 390’s 800 mm), and together with those low-set clip-ons it will ensure an aerodynamically-efficient riding position (top of the helmet in line with the fairing visor). We can already visualize the RCs piercing through the air much easily at high speeds than their naked siblings.
The launch would be presided over by Mr Stefan Pierer, CEO of KTM Sportmotorcycles AG along with Mr Rajiv Bajaj, MD Bajaj Auto.
We have seen that no one has gotten the pricing so right as much as KTM Bajaj has with the Duke twins, especially the 390, and we hope to hear equally enticing quotations for the new bikes on the 9th of September. Fingers crossed!
So, are you ready!
