Moments back, KTM announced the launch of the smallest motorcycle in its range – Duke 125. As was touted it is the ABS version that gets introduced here but it is the pricing that has left us impressed.
2019 Duke 125 Engine
As you can see Duke 125 carries over the same design theme of the 200 Duke and doesn’t look any different. It produces 14.5 PS of peak power at 9250 rpm and 12 Nm of max torque at 8000 rpm from its single cylinder 4 valve DOHC liquid cooled 124.7cc fuel injected engine. Power is transmitted through a 6-speed gearbox and the motorcycle is suspended on a Trellis Frame, like other KTMs.
Other features of the Duke range like 43 mm upside down forks (with 140 mm travel), LED tail lamps, sporty looks etc continue to be on offer. It gets shod with a Single-Channel ABS, like the new Duke 200.

As you can see – there is a proper placement difference between the two entry siblings – 125 costs about Rs 42,000 less. But these are introductory prices as quoted by the company. There are three colours on offer – Black, Orange and White.

Duke 125 will bring the fight further down the pecking order and it will compete with sports motorcycles like the Yamaha R15 which is having a dream run on the sales charts. By bringing the affordability of KTM motorcycles down, the company can safely expect to add significant volumes to its already impressive tally.
