KTM Adventure 390 spy pics continue to emerge as we come closer to the motorcycle’s launch. Will the most awaited motorcycle be priced as interestingly?
After the 790 Duke – KTM’s biggest in India, the next launch, it appears, will/should be the the much awaited 390 Adventure. The motorcycle has again been caught testing somewhere in the open.
The test mule here is seen with touring equipment like panniers and saddle boxes which, we are sure, will be offered as official accessories for the motorcycle, post launch. There is other stuff like rear view mirrors, production headlamp (looks like LED) and other such stuff which suggests that this could be a closer to production test mule.
As is obvious, most of the hardware will come from the 390 Duke including that stonker of a motor. However, we are very eager about how KTM tweaks it for an application which does not require extreme upfront acceleration. ADVs need to have abundant low end grunt and it will be interesting to see how KTM achieves that from an engine which is not very low-rev friendly in nature.
As we have learnt few days back, 390 ADV may go to production in December at Bajaj’s Chakan plant, later than its earlier expected launch date of November; and much later than what Bajaj announced in 2017! EICMA November unveil is almost a sureshot guess now and India may become one of the first markets for this SUV of two-wheels.
Unfortunately, despite a high demand, this segment has not seen deserving motorcycles. All we have is the underpowered (but interesting) Xpulse 200, unreliable Himalayan and the senselessly priced G310 GS in the affordable range. 390 Adventure will be pitted right in between and there are high expectations from this motorcycle…
