790 Duke brochure reveals its tech specs and features. It is expected to be launched in the coming few days in India…
Based on the recent spotting, highly awaited KTM 790 Duke has started reaching dealerships. In a latest we have received its brochure in our message box (by our reader named Rocky Balboaa). The brochure lists the technical details of this mid-sizer. With so much of hullabaloo around it, we now expect it to get launched within the coming few days.
As we understand, KTM will bring it as a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) model into India and hence prices will not be like its localised models. This mid-displacement streetfighter will come with tonnes of features and some of them highlighted in the brochure are MTC (Motorcycle Traction Control), customised track mode, slipper clutch for seamless and clutchless gearshifts, standard MSR to avoid locking up of rear wheel under high speed downshift and Supermoto mode for times when you want to enjoy those power slides!
Coming to the technical data, this mid-sized naked bike will be powered by a 799cc, 8 valve, DOHC, liquid cooled, parallel twin cylinder engine capable of producing 105 HP at 9000 rpm and a peak torque of 87 Nm at 8000 rpm. The powder coated CrMo-steel frame will manage the suspensions via WP non-adjustable USD fork at the front and preload adjustable mono-shock at the rear. The Bosch IMO engine management system offers a total of 4 riding modes – Sport, Street, Rain and a customised Track mode. Braking is taken care of by dual 300 mm disc at front with 4 piston calipers and 240 mm disc at the rear with 2 piston calipers.
According to various reports, some KTM dealers are taking bookings of the motorcycle at pre-payments of Rs 5,000 to Rs 25,000. The motorcycle is expected to be priced at around Rs 8 Lakh ex-showroom.
