BIG CATCH: Kawasaki W175 Spotted Testing in India FIRST TIME

First ever Kawasaki W175 spy pics from Pune confirm that the entry level classic motorcycle is coming to us, most probably very soon…

It was already in the news that Kawasaki has plans for the smaller W175 for India. You can read the first chirpings here. And in a latest development, the entry level roadster has been snapped testing somewhere in Pune.

This is the first spotting of the motorcycle in India which confirms Kawasaki’s plans for this model. The W175 is the smallest motorcycle in Kawasaki’s ‘W’ series which spawns various classic models. The Jap already sells the bigger W800 in India and it has also been updated to meet Bharat Stage 6 emission norms.

The extremely simple W175 is powered by a single cylinder, water cooled motor which churns humble 13 PS of peak power at 7500 rpm and 13.2 Nm of max torque at 6000 rpm. Power is distributed in five gears. However, the good thing about it is that it weighs just 126 kilos.

The model sold in markets like Philippines, Indonesia, etc is equipped with a carburetor. In all probability, this is the BS6 or Euro 5 compliant mule under tests and it may be running a fuel injector.

Not much can be deciphered about the bike apart from the fact that it looks very basic and does NOT have a very significant road presence. It will be interesting to see how people perceive this classic model at an expected price tag of Rs 1.30-1.40 lakh, where you get 200cc sports motorcycles like Pulsar 200, Apache 200, etc apart from the Royal Enfield’s 350cc Bullets!

Apart from the W175, Kawasaki was also spotted testing the Ninja 300 BS6 long back. You can check its spy pics here.
