Rejoice! Kawasaki Spotted Testing Ninja 300 BS6 in India

Testing Ninja 300 BS6 pics put an end to the rumour that the motorcycle will not be upgraded in India. It may be launched soon…

Ninja 300 is still one of the best 300cc motorcycles and its killer price tag of Rs 2.98 Lakh made it an automatic choice for a lot of buyers who wanted to upgrade to a faired sports multi cylinder motorcycle.

However, it must be learnt that India is one of the very few markets where Kawasaki still sells the Ninja 300. In most of the markets, Kawasaki has replaced it with the bigger Ninja 400. This means that Kawasaki India had to take charge if it wanted to continue the 300 post BS6. And it appears that the local arm is working on upgrading the motor to Bharat Stage VI compliance.

A test mule with temporary registration number plate has been spotted near ARAI, in Pune, without any camouflage. Though there is nothing conclusive but testing at this point of time is, in itself, an indicator of the company’s plans with the smaller Ninja. Vicinity with ARAI also, kind of, suggests that this should be the Ninja 300 BS6.

The angle of pics does not let us see other changes, if any. Ninja 300 is Kawasaki’s largest selling motorcycle and it will definitely want to continue selling it without any pause in between. Hence, the Ninja 300 BS6 should reach dealerships soon.

Kawasaki will want to continue with the pricing edge it has in this segment and we expect the BS6 version to be offered at a very minimum price increment. However, on the other hand since Kawasaki may be working on this motor exclusively for India, the cost on Research & Development may be high.
