The folks at Kawasaki have been a gem. They were the first manufacturers in the country to truly bring the feel of performance biking in India with the Ninja 250R back in 2009. To make their present gen models more popular, the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer has started offering discounts on certain models. This time the blessing has fallen on the Er-6n!
This naked monster has been on offer in India sinceĀ October 2014. It is powered by the same 649 cc parallel twin, liquid cooled mill from the Ninja 650 albeit a different tuning. It churns out 72.1 PS of maximum power at 8,500 rpm and 64 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. Claiming of a well defined mid-range performance, Kawasaki believes the Er-6n is ideal for everyday use.
With rumours flying around of a possible price cut, we contacted our nearest Kawasaki dealership in the national capital to find out more. They told us that the communication which they have received from Kawasaki is that the Er-6n gets a cut of Rs 27,000. However, they are not sure yet if the cut is on the ex-showroom price or the final on road price.
To give you an idea the Er-6n retails in Delhi with an ex-showroom price of Rs 4,96,235 which translates to an on-road tag of Rs 5,48,502. So if the discount is applied on the on-road price, it comes down to Rs 5.21 lakhs. However, if it is applied on the ex-showroom price the final price will be brought down even further!
We will keep digging into the matter and bring you an update on it as soon as we get one.
