PERAK Produces Higher Torque Now; Deliveries From July 20

Jawa Perak specs have been revised in this lockdown, reveals the company. The bobber is now faster off the block with better pulling power…

Promoted as India’s first factory custom bobber, Jawa Perak is, indeed, a beautiful looking motorcycle. That Jawa has gone ahead with a single seat configuration further adds to its dynamism!

Perak has had an interesting life till now. It was first showcased (read launched with a price tag) back in 2018 with a launch promise for early 2019. However, after multiple slips, it could only be launched (again) in November 2019. Bookings were opened from January 2020 with a assurance of deliveries from April 2020.

However, this time Corona-19 played spoilsport and disrupted production, further delaying deliveries. So, we have people waiting for the motorcycle for the last seven months after booking. Nonetheless, Perak is very much ready and the company has officially announced that deliveries will commence from 20th July 2020 ‘at dealerships across India‘!

Jawa Perak Specs Revised

Amid all this, there has been another interesting development. In November 2019, at its official launch, the BS6 Perak was announced to produce 30.4 PS of peak power and 31 Nm of max torque. However, the company has managed to extract more juice from the same 334cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled, DOHC engine. It now churns 30.64 PS and 32.74 Nm which is a hike of 0.24 PS of power and more importantly 1.74 Nm of torque.

Jawa says this increment in specs has been achieved by its product team during the lockdown (?) and this makes the motorcycle better at pulling and rolling acceleration. Interestingly, the weight has also dropped from the earlier announced 179 kilos to 175 kg.
