Honda ADV160 teaser reveals a slight evolution in design over its predecessor… Could share the powertrain with Vario 160…
Honda two-wheelers have teased the ‘ADV160’ for the international markets, which will replace the existing ADV150 adventure-scooter. This new adventure-scooter will initially be launched in the International markets like Japan and Indonesia.
The teaser image posted by Honda two-wheelers gives us a silhouetted glimpse of the design of the upcoming scooter. The front end of the scooter seems to be fitted with a tall windscreen, and sports vertically-stacked sharp-angled LED headlamps nestled in a broad and muscular front apron.

Moving to the rear section of the scooter, we can make out what appears to be a single-unit stepped seat stretched along a long tail section. The scooter clearly retains the design philosophy of the existing ADV150, coupled with a slight evolution in overall design.
Coming to the heart of the new scooter, there is a high probability that the new ADV160 will share its power-unit with the new PCX160 and Vario 160 scooters that are already on sale in certain international markets.
These two 160 scooter offerings are powered by a 157 cc, single-cylinder, 4-valve- liquid-cooled engine produces 15.5 HP at 8,500 RPM and 15 Nm of torque at 6,500 RPM. Certain whispers suggest that the above two mentioned scooters along with the new ADV160 will incorporate Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) system.
Recently, we reported that Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India (HMSI) have patented the ADV 350 and Vario 160 scooter in India. The patent filing means that Honda have been cleared to launch these scooters in India, if they decide to do so.
So, is there a chance that Honda could bring the new ADV160 adventure-scooter alongside the Vario 160???
