Honda Shine 100 – will this be the name of the upcoming Honda ki Sou (100)? We have two key points to talk about the new teaser…
After officially announcing it a few days back (story here), Honda has released the second teaser of its upcoming and the most talked about 100cc motorcycle. The TVC again features two rural guys talking about a prospect motorcycle wherein one of the guy says that he wants a bike which doesn’t only look good but is low on maintenance and ownership. This is denoted by the punchline – Kam Kharcha, Zyada Charcha.
That is when the Bollywood actor Jimmy Shergill enters the scene and says – ‘Then get ready for Honda is Sou (100) which is coming with Honda’s trust!‘ The launch date, as we know, is 15th of March and the location is Mumbai.
There are two prominent bits that we can notice in this latest teaser.
- One, the sketch of a random motorcycle that looks barebones and has a few styling bits and a headlamp cowl with flatter seat and non-humped fuel tank. Is it T-H-E motorcycle that we will get to see on the D day?
- And two, the usage of ‘Shining Future‘ tagline in the official mailer. Does that hint to the possibility of this motorcycle being called as Honda Shine 100? Basically, Shine is one of the strongest sub-brand in the market for entry level motorcycles. The current Shine is, in fact, the largest selling 125cc bike in India.
Considering that this will be one of the strongest move from Honda against its arch-rival Hero MotoCorp on its turf, using a very strong brand name could definitely give it the much needed initial traction. So, we, definitely, can not rule out the usage of the brand name Shine 100 for the upcoming motorcycle – and now with a connecting dot we are not just speculating!
After trying out all it can earlier, in this fresh new attempt Honda looks a lot more prepared and definitely has the Hero’s enviable 100cc motorcycle market share in sight.
