Honda 2Wheelers India has announced that it is shutting all its four production plants in India due to the devastating second wave of COVID-19. In the current times, many cities and states have announced partial or complete lockdowns and despite that India is reporting over 3.5 Lakh positive cases per day, along with thousands of deaths. And these are official figures.

Honda currently has four manufacturing plants in Manesar, (Haryana), Tapukara (Rajasthan), Narsapura (Karnataka) and Vithalapur (Gujarat). This halt in production will come into effect from 1st May 2021 and will be for fifteen days. Honda says that it will utilize this time for annual plant maintenance activities.

Honda also says that it will take a call on its production plan in the coming months based on the COVID condition and market recovery. Few days back, India’s largest 2-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp had also announced shutdown of its plants due to the same reason.
