With 11 BS6 Models Honda First to Cross 1 Million Sales

Honda 2Wheelers India was the first to commence sales of conventional Bharat Stage 6 compliant products in India with its 2020 Activa 125 which which was launched six months ahead of the 1st April deadline of BS6.

Gradually, in the last 10 months, Honda has increased its BS6 product lineup to eleven motorcycles and scooters across segments. It includes four scooters – Dio, Activa 125, Activa 6G and Grazia 125; Six motorcycles – Livo, CD Dream, Shine, SP125, Unicorn, X-Blade and the big Africa Twin.

As a result of the proactive transition to the new, stricter norms, Honda says it has crossed the 1 million sales mark and it is the first maker to do so in the country. Elaborating on the same, Honda reveals that it has dispatched 11 lakh BS6 two-wheelers till now. Till March 31st 2020, this number stood at 6.5 Lakh units.

In the process, Honda has also introduced innovative technologies on its products like Enhanced Smart Power (eSP), ACG Starter (for silent start), Programmed Fuel Injection (PGMFI), etc. Additionally, Honda is also offering an industry first 6 year warranty package (which includes 3 year optional extended warranty).

Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Director – Sales & Marketing, HMSI, said that theirs is the most diverse portfolio which starts from 110cc scooters and goes all the way uptil 1100cc premium adventure bikes. He iterates that customers are preferring personal mobility because of COVID-19 and is hopeful of more Indians buying Honda’s updated products.
