Honda 2018 launches will mostly be from the existing crop but that one model is expected to be interesting…
Honda announced four all-new model launches last year which turned out to be Grazia, Cliq, Africa Twin and XBlade. After finishing the year 2017-18 with a phenomenal 22 percent growth, the second largest two-wheeler maker in India has announced its plans for the year 2018-19.
The company will invest about Rs 800 crore this fiscal with a target of double digit growth again (if they achieve this it will be their third consecutive double digit growth). They intend to expand their reach to 6000 touchpoints by this year end. They have also announced that a unique customer loyalty program called as Honda Joy Club will also be launched in this year.
Honda 2018 Launches – On Product Front
- Honda will launch a brand new model in India.
- They will also introduce 18 updates of existing products – both motorcycles and scooters.
’18’ updates means that almost the entire portfolio will be refreshed with model year changes like they did this year. This is also expected to include one or two CKD/CBU models.
But only one new launch?
It appears that the company does not want to take many chances before the BS VI emission norms which kick in from 2020 and hence they have planned to go slow with new launches. Honda has not shared any details with respect to the model in question but we are expecting it to be a motorcycle – and an interesting one that is… 🙂
