After ensuring it’s home turf ie the entry level commuter segment is guarded, Hero is spreading its presence in the 150cc and higher displacement segments. It introduced as many as four motorcycles in the 200cc segment – all of them catering to different audience set.
Last month Hero unveiled the new Xtreme 160R which created a lot of interest. The good thing about it is that the country’s largest manufacturer has promised to launch it within this month. Ahead of its official introduction, the motorcycle has been updated at Hero’s website.
Apart from listing the various features of the new streetfighter, it also has a provision for enthusiasts to register themselves for the first test ride of the bike, once it reaches their nearest dealerships.
Hero is pushing the Xtreme 160R as a performance oriented motorcycle in this segment. It has highlighted its claimed 0-60 kph numbers of 4.7 seconds. Other features Hero mentions on the website are –

The Xtreme 160R is powered by a new 163cc, 2-valve, air-cooled engine which is good for 15 bhp of peak power at 8000 rpm and 14 Nm of maximum torque at 6500 rpm. The streetfighter motorcycle, which weighs 138 kilos only, has a 12 liter fuel tank capacity.
