Hero Vida electric scooter launch was to happen this month; however, it will now be unveiled in July. The company has shared and date and some details…
Hero have announced VIDA – which will be a sub-brand that will spawn electric products from the company. It was official that the first product under it would goto market within this month. However, the company has delayed it.
The first EV product under the brand Vida will be announced on 1st of July, 2022, according to a latest press not from Hero. The reason for the push is not known but it may have something to do with the current legal battle with family firm, Hero Electric.
It is safe to assume that it will be an electric scooter as we have seen its glimpse during the company’s 10th anniversary celebration livestream. Further information on the name and specifications of the electric scooter will be revealed during the launch itself.
The company have revealed that the new EV under the Vida branding will be produced at their newest manufacturing plant in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh that began operating in March 2020. The first Vida branded electric scooters are expected to begin reaching the showroom floors later in the year.
Hero February 2022 Sales – Massive Drop in Scooters
Hero MotoCorp have already started creating big infrastructure to support their electric ambitions. They partnered with Taiwan’s Gogoro and we should be seeing battery swap feature, somewhere down the line.
The company have also shaken hands with Bharat Petroleum and will offer charging facilities in the vast network of the PSU. Aside that, we expect Hero’s first product to be feature loaded at an attractive price point – a strategy that has worked in the premium motorcycle segment for the brand. This is likely to give the brand ample traction to create a compelling case for buyers to transit to the new mode of transport.
