Hero Sells 5.84 Lakh Units in Aug 20; Higher Than Last August

Hero is leading the charge in the monthly sales revival. It crossed the 5.50 Lakh mark in the month of August 2020 and this also marks the fourth consecutive month of sales growth for the brand.

The country’s largest maker sold a total of 5,84,456 units in the month of August 2020 which is a growth of 7.55 percent over 5,43,406 units it registered in August 2019. Individually, domestic sales stood at 5,68,674 units (higher than last Aug) whereas exports, at 15,782 units, were a little lesser.

In terms of products, Hero continues to be motorcycle-dependent with majority of sales. It sold 544,658 bikes as compared to just 39,798 scooters. While motorcycles registered growth, scooters have become a consistent problematic area for the company.

In July 2020, Hero registered total sales of 5,14,509 units which means the company has managed a sequential growth of 13 percent in August 2020.
