Hero Mavrick teaser pics have been revealed by the company just a few days ahead of its launch. Interesting times ahead.. for sure..
We have come to a day when Hero is very close to unleashing its biggest motorcycle ever to the world. Ending all speculations and rumors, Hero has shot in a press note confirming the name of the motorcycle – MAVRICK, and revealing two teasers of it.
The first teaser shows the motorcycle from the front. We can see the H-styled DRLs inside a round headlamp which is mounted ahead of a bulbous fuel tank. We can also notice the tank extensions that may add a bit of bulk to the motorcycle. Then we have the conventional telescopics that replace the USDs of the Harley Davidson X440 – a motorcycle on which the Mavrick is based. You also get an offset instrument cluster and a flat-ish rod-type handlebar.
The other image is from the top where the motorcycle reveals its cuts and curves. It is clear that Hero is chasing the more modern looking retro roadsters like the Speed 400 with its Mavrick rather than the old-school Classic 350-like motorcycles.
The Mavrick is expected to be powered by the same 440cc single cylinder oil cooled motor of the Harley X440 and power and torque numbers are expected to be around a similar ballpark of 27 bhp and 38 Nm. There will definitely be tuning differences but that abundant low end torque – like the Royal Enfields – is what will be the USP of the Mavrick.
EXCLUSIVE: Hero 2.5R Xtunt Patented in India; Future Xtreme 210R?
With this, Hero MotoCorp will enter the lifestyle leisure riding segment and it will be very interesting to see how people respond to this change.
As we had reported yesterday, Hero has already confirmed the launch date of the Mavrick 440 and it is coming within this month. Apart from the complete specs and features, what I am drooling over is the pricing prospects this motorcycle is likely to come at. I will discuss that in a separate story ahead of the launch…
