Hero Increases Power Output of Xtreme Sports to 15.6 bhp Overnight; Now Officially Launched

We did an article on April 16 this year – “Curious Case of 15.2 bhp Hero Xtreme Sports” highlighting the confusion over its launch. Interestingly, after being on sale for the last 2-3 months (probably a few of you may already be riding it), Hero only took time out yesterday to officially announce its launch! Yes, Hero has shared an official press release which declares its launch and believe us, it gets even more confusing… its power output has gone higher, overnight!

Xtreme Sports Power/Torque Saga

  • Auto Expo revealed Figures: 15.2 bhp & 12.8 Nm
  • Official Brochure Figures: 15.2 bhp & 13.5 Nm
  • Official Press Release Figures: 15.6 bhp & 13.5 Nm

As you can see none of them have maintained consistency and we leave it to you to decide what and where the lapse is. And that is not all, the official site still mentions 15.2 bhp of peak power.

So, either the power has been bumped up on 29th June’s night or Hero has listed the power output of the next-upgrade, which may have to come sooner, going by their current 150 cc sales or they were underestimating their engineering prowess so far 😛

You can access the press release here.
