Hero Electric 1st batch roll-out consists of Optima & Nyx e-scooters… They aim to produce 1 Million units by the 2022-end…
So, back in January, Hero Electric announced their 5-year partnership with Mahindra which is aimed toward Hero Electric’s growth and expansion plans to cater to the ever-growing demand for EVs in India.
Now, the company has announced the roll-out of their 1st batch of Optima & Nyx electric scooters from their Pithampur manufacturing unit, which is owned and operated by Mahindra.
Sharing his views on the roll-out, Mr. Sohinder Gill (CEO, Hero Electric) said –
“We strongly believe in like-minded strategic partnerships to offer “true value for money” products in electric mobility. Our 20-plus strong relationships with preferred partners in the field of charging, servicing, rapid charging, swapping etc are helping us build a robust EV ecosystem not only for us but for the whole EV category. Tie-up with Mahindra is one such alliance that we are proud of. The two teams have been working closely for seamless integration of the manufacturing process and offer to the customer the same level of global quality that is produced from our Ludhiana plant. With this tie-up, we are now well on our way to the half a million capacity that we had planned a few months back”.
Furthermore, Hero Electric have shared that their new partnership with Mahindra will foster a platform which will allow them to develop and share the supply chain for various new electric offerings coming soon.
Moving forward, both companies will strengthen their alliance and plans to share their R&D expertise to ‘develop newer technologies and products for domestic and overseas markets‘. Their joint development efforts will also play a key role in developing the platform approach to help electrification of the Peugeot Motorcycles’ portfolio.
