Domestic sales account for 6.64 lakh units, while exports see a sharper 35% jump
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has reported total sales of 7,34,566 units for October 2026. This is a 13% increase over the 6,50,596 units sold during October last year. The company has managed to maintain its growth momentum through the festive month, with both domestic sales and exports registering an increase.
The domestic market contributed 6,64,831 units to the October tally, compared to 5,98,952 units a year ago. This translates to an 11% year-on-year increase. Exports, on the other hand, stood at 69,735 units, registering a much stronger growth of 35% over the 51,644 units shipped in October 2025.
Domestic sales continue to account for the majority of Honda’s volumes, but exports have grown at a considerably faster pace. The company has not shared a model-wise breakdown for October, so the contribution of individual scooters and motorcycles to this month’s performance remains unclear.

HMSI witnessed steady underlying demand during the festive season. Its wide product portfolio and dealer network of more than 7,000 touchpoints also continue to support its reach across the country. The company currently caters to the Indian market with a mix of scooters and motorcycles, spanning everyday commuter options as well as premium offerings.
October’s performance also adds to an encouraging first seven months for HMSI. Between April and October 2026, the company recorded cumulative sales of 41,74,638 units, against 36,44,151 units during the corresponding period last year. This represents a 15% increase.
Domestic sales during this period stood at 37,08,903 units, growing by 13%. Exports reached 4,65,735 units, marking a 28% increase over the 3,63,161 units shipped between April and October 2025.

The numbers show that exports have been an important contributor to Honda’s growth this financial year, with overseas shipments increasing at more than twice the rate of domestic sales. HMSI operates four manufacturing plants in India, located at Manesar, Tapukara, Narsapura and Vithalapur, serving both domestic and international markets. With five months still remaining in FY27, Honda will be looking to carry this momentum forward through the rest of the financial year.k[
