Hero Discontinues 3 More Motorcycles Including Splendor Cafe Racer

Hero has reshuffled its motorcycle lineup in India and has discontinued as many as three products from its 2017 lineup. This comes after they slashed the Impulse recently.

Hero Discontinued Motorcycles: List

Here are the discontinued models..

  1. Splendor iSmart
  2. Splendor Pro Classic
  3. HF Dawn

The Splendor iSmart was one controversial motorcycle. Hero claimed fuel efficiency figures of over 100 kmpl through the use of i3s technology. However, owner and maker of the engine, Honda dubbed them as misleading.

Splendor iSmart was bound to go since it used Honda’s 97cc engine and Hero has already made its successor – Splendor iSmart 110, which carried company’s indigenous engine.

Splendor Pro Classic was the cheapest cafe racer in India. However, due to its impractical seating, it appears that there were not many takers for it. Obviously we will not come to know about its sales since Hero does not release variantwise sales for the Splendor series.

But it is clearly due to low sales Hero does not consider it worthy enough to work on it and upgrade it to BS4 emission norms. The motorcycle is no more on sale and we do not see Hero using its own engine on this one either.

HF Dawn was just dragging along with very low production and sales. Finally, Hero has slashed it from the lineup.

This makes the HF Deluxe as the most affordable motorcycle and the entry point into Hero’s stable.
