World’s Highest EV Charging Station Installed at Spiti Valley

A new EV charging station at Spiti Valley has been introduced which becomes the world’s highest point for EV users. Both cars and bikes can be charged here…

Pune-based start-up goEgoNetwork has installed Bharat AC and Dual Socket Type 2 chargers at Kaza, Spiti Valley located in the western Himalayas. This makes it the world’s highest EV charging station situated at 3,800m above the sea-level.

At the charging station, Bharat AC and Dual Socket Type 2 chargers are being used which have Make-in-India certification and compliance with ARAI and OCA certification.

The charging station is located at Hotel Dayzor. Both electric two-wheelers and electric cars can be charged here. goEgo network has joined hands with TVS Motor Company to promote the EV infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh.

The inauguration was marked by a ride that was organized from Manali to Kaza with two TVS iQube Electric scooters while celebrating World Zero-Emission Day on September 21, 2021.

For the ride, the TVS iQube Electric scooters were ridden by Ms. Maanvi Rawlley, Marketing Communication Specialist at goEgoNetwork, and Ms. Pratiksha Das, motorcycle social media influencer from Mumbai.

Both the woman treaded their way through the challenging terrains of Manali and Kaza while passing through Kunzum-La pass. The two riders reached Kaza and inaugurated the EV charging stations installed by goEgoNetwork along with Mr. Mahender Pratap Singh, SDM Kaza.

The SDM said that the Himachal Pradesh government is keen to
promote zero-emission and sustainability towards a greener future.

Rider Pratiksha Das said the TVS iQube Electric scooter could easily move through the dangerous and uneven roads without any hassle. There were rocks and boulders along with challenging weather conditions but the electric scooters easily made their way through.

Ms. Maanvi, the other e-scooter rider to inaugurate the goEgo Network world’s highest EV charging station, said that she had doubts about how an EV scooter would perform in such colder temperatures but the electric scooter from TVS was successful in accomplishing the ride safely.
