Emflux One launch is getting delayed but the company has spoken about it. It is touted to be India’s first electric superbike…
It’s been more than a year and half since Emflux One was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo in Noida but we still do not have a clear launch date yet! There have been a lot of questions on its delay and the young company has released an open public letter answering them. They have also shared some details of what’s going on…
The EV start-up based out of Bengaluru made a big announcement at the 2018 Auto Expo that they were making India’s first electric superbike and it will be in the market in 2019. The smashing looks of the bike, the jet engine-like sound of Emflux One motor made everyone drooling over it. The wait, however, will be longer, it seems..
Emflux One Launch Delay: Reason
According to the company, all the components of its ONE, including Mechanical, Electrical and Design are manufactured at the Bengaluru facility which is causing the delay in the final product. Lack of investments is also an add-on which is slowing down ONE’s development. The company is so far able to raise 4.65 crore from different entrepreneurs which is still not sufficient for a start-up to build a superbike from the scratch.
Emflux Motors also stated that they have made some changes to the bike for better performance. The motor is optimised, the aesthetic design is improved in terms of ‘surface flow’ and ‘maturity’, the electronic circuit is being tested rigorously, etc. After the positive response for EVs in the Union Budget of India, company could also stick a more competitive price tag which will definitely widen its appeal in the Indian market.
Emflux One is powered by a Liquid cooled AC induction motor which can produce 84 Nm of torque at 8400 rpm. According to claims by the company, it can do 0-100 kmph sprint in 3.0 seconds flat along with a top speed of 200 kph. The motor also has a fairly good range of 200 kms.
There is no official announcement about its launch date yet but we expect it to be ready by the next year (2020). Patience yields sweet fruit, so, a better version of Emflux ONE can be expected. Meanwhile, the company has teased two new streetfighter motorcycles details of which you can read here.
