Its official, Ducati is finally back in the country. This time they have ditched the concept of middleman and set foot as an official subsidiary with dealerships in Mumbai, Delhi and Gurgaon. The Mumbai dealership is in association with Infinity while the Delhi and Gurgaon ones are by AMP Motors. The Gurgaon dealership is also the largest dealership in the entire Ducati global network.
While things are at a very nascent stage right now, but this time they are serious about setting up a firm base in India.
The company is currently channeling its energy in identifying, confirming and training a network of qualified dealers and technicians. So why the delay? The company wanted to enter the country only when they are 100 per cent ready. They now hope that they will be able to provide the same level of after sales service which they have been providing in other parts of the world.
The company has initially launched the Diavel, Hypermotard, Monster and Panigale models while the recently revived Scrambler will be brought in India soon which would make things in the premium motorcycles category. They also plan to open a dealership in Bangalore in the near future.
