Navi was not the only concept that was made by the Indian arm of Honda’s Research and Development team. What set the stage on fire was the CX-02. Yes, clearly reminding us of the CB500X, the CX-02 is a sporty and aggressive adventure bike which had us begging for a production version! That however seems highly unlikely in the near future considering all the hoopla which surrounded the CX-01 concept of the last Auto Expo has not yielded a motorcycle which we can ride, yet!
The story behind the name is simple, Concept Cross (CX) and 02 for the fact that this is the second model which has been developed 100 per cent at the Honda Research and Development India at Technical Centre, India. As per Honda there has been a rising need among the urban youth for crossover, multipurpose motorcycles (thank you globalisation) and this is how the R&D team envisages it to be.
The stunning CX02 is a lot bigger than the CX-01 and while no details have been shared about the bike yet, we expect it to house a bigger mill. In fact the engine and the frame look very similar to the CB500X!
And that exhaust canister – that’s probably the most beautiful thing I have seen in a concept or production motorcycle in the past couple of years.

Is Honda India planning something big? Let us hope against the hope that they do have plans to make it a production motorcycle, otherwise we are not covering the CX-03 next expo!!!
