This March-end madness, created by the Supreme Court ban on BS3 vehicles, has caused a lot of confusion among buyers. This is because the ruling clearly says that BS3 vehicles can not be sold, manufactured or registered at the RTOs from 1st April.
The question with many of our readers and other junta is – What happens to buyers of these motorcycles and scooters from tomorrow. Will RTOs register these vehicles or not because it is practically not possible to register so many vehicles by today!
So, here is the clarification…
We have gone through the Supreme Court order and it clearly allows registration of all motorcycles, scooters or any other BS3 vehicle purchased till today (ie 31st March 2017) even in April 2017. All you need to have is the invoice (and other supporting documents) which can prove that your purchase is before 1st April 2017!
Here it is in exact wordings…
All the vehicle registering authorities under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 are prohibited for registering such vehicles on and from 1st April, 2017 that do not meet BS-IV emission standards, except on proof that such a vehicle has already been sold on or before 31st March, 2017
So, if you have been a fence sitter till now and worrying about the registration of these vehicles we have given you the clarification. Now, go and grab your motorcycle/scooter you have been waiting to buy, if it is still available that is…! For reference, here is the discounts on various manufacturers…
