Opening of Chetak bookings have been expanded to many more cities in the country. Gradually, the scoot is going places…
Bajaj is trying to keep up with the faster pace at which the demand for electric vehicles has suddenly risen in India. So, it is expanding its presence of its lone electric offering Chetak in various major cities of India.
Currently, Chetak is available for booking in new cities of Mysore, Aurangabad and Mangalore. Interested customers from these regions can directly visit the online booking portal of Chetak and register themselves.
Previously, Chetak made its way into Nagpur after launching in Bengaluru and Pune. Bookings have also opened in these three cities. The electric scooter will also mark its presence in Hyderabad soon.
Chetak is surely going to face a lot of competition from other prominent brands selling EVs. One example can be the TVS iQube which is gradually catching up with Chetak in terms of sales.
A major reason for this can be the high pricing at which Chetak is being offered in India. Chetak costs around INR 1.4 Lac, whereas many others have reduced prices owing to reduced FAME 2 subsidy.
The Chetak electric scooter packs a 3 kW electric motor with a Li-ion battery that offers 16 Nm of peak torque. Two riding modes Eco and Sport are offered.
Eco mode will enable the scooter to attain up to 95 km of distance. On Sports mode, however, the range will drop to 85 km. All this range is possible when the vehicle has been charged fully.
Additionally, Chetak gets LED lighting, IP 67 rating, Bluetooth connectivity, alloy wheels. Customers can choose from six interesting color schemes for their Chetak.
