BMW has officially announced the launch of the new M1000 RR in India. The supersport model is based on the liter class S1000 RR. This is the first ‘M’ badged motorcycle that BMW has launched in the country.
The M1000 RR is imported in India as a CBU (completely built unit) and is available on pre-bookings. The Euro 5 (BS6) compliant M1000 RR is powered by the water/oil cooled 999cc, inline 4 cylinder engine that produces 212 hp of peak power at 14,500 rpm and 113 Nm of max torque at 11,000 rpm. The supremely powerful motorcycle is claimed to do a 0-100 kph sprint in 3.1 seconds flat and a top whack of 306 kph.
There are four riding modes to play with – Rain, Road, Dynamic and Race as standard. And when you are on the race track there is an additional option of Riding Modes Pro that offer three additional ride modes – Race Pro 1-3, that are customizable as per the rider’s needs. Herein you can adjust and control engine throttle, engine braking, wheelie control, ABS, ABS Pro and Traction control. This feature also comes with Launch control and pit-lane limiter.
