BMW has, for some reason, launched its maxi-scooter C400 GT in the Indian market after teasing it for few days. The C400 GT becomes the most powerful scooter in the market but that comes at a price…. a hefty one that is!
The C400 GT churns 34 hp of peak power at 7500 rpm and 35 Nm of max torque at 5750 rpm from its single cylinder 350cc engine. BMW claims that the premium scoot is capable of doing the 0-100 kph sprint in 9.5 seconds and has a top speed of more than 139 km/h. This makes it insanely quick for a scooter and those numbers can shame some motorcycles as well.
Key features include – 112mm front travel suspension, 15 inch tyre at the front, 14 inch tyre at the rear, twin front discs, ABS, side and center stand, twin LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights, keyless ride, etc. It is also equipped with a multifunction 6.5 inch color TFT display that offers connectivity options.

All of the excitement, however, vanishes once you read this figure of nearly 10 lacs. At that price you can get some mind-bogglingly fast motorcycles like Z900, etc. The C400 GT gets this astronomical price tag because it has been brought here as a CBU (completely built unit) that more than doubles the prices because of over 100 percent taxes.

We wonder what kind of a customer base is BMW looking out for with this one but this may surely attract more makers to bring in powerful scoots from their international line-ups to our markets. We are not sure if we need them though!
