Will be from the existing brands & lie in the S1 segment…
Bajaj has shot us an official invite to block our dates for the first of February, just a day ahead of the global unveil of the Royal Enfield Himalayan (on the 2nd). They have cleared that the event is indeed the “Launch of a New Motorcycle”.
You may have read a few reports quoting that Bajaj may launch the impending ‘New Brand’ and its first motorcycle (on 1st), however, that is NOT true. We had an exclusive interview with Eric Vas, President (Motorcycle Business) Bajaj and he told us that they will launch a new motorcycle in the S1 segment which they define as motorcycles ranging between 60,000 to 1 Lakhs.
In a question, he specified that this launch will NOT be the upcoming new brand but instead something from the existing brands.
So, as a BikeAdvice reader you know two things –
- The 1st Feb motorcycle will lie between the 60,000 to 1 Lakh price band and
- It will be from either of the existing brands like Pulsar, Discover etc.

There has been a peculiar Bajaj motorcycle that has been caught testing these days in and around Pune (spy pics here). It has a low cruiser-like frame and so far has carried dummy parts from the Pulsar range. Bajaj has hidden it smartly and no concrete details have been revealed. It is a big possibility that this is the same motorcycle that has been scheduled for a launch on the 1st Feb or something different…. Stay tuned!
