Barely a few days after its first spotting Bajaj’s low cost cruiser has been spied once again, this time revealing a little more. While there is no confirmation yet but this new bike is expected to be displacing around 150 cc, the segment where the manufacturer has been losing ground of late. Spotted by the folks at Bikewale, the cruiser continues to sport parts from the Pulsar range.
Clearly visible is the dummy analogue-digital instrumentation console. Expect this, along with the fairing and fuel tank to be shed with time for more cruiser centric parts. We also feel that the handlebar from regular motorcycles will give way to a higher slightly wider cruiser-type rod. The most interesting bit however is the big exhaust jutting out sporting a chrome tip.
The rear gets a thin grabrail and the motorcycle is running with long Gas Charged Nitrox suspension (not seen on the Avenger range yet!). The seat, tail profile and the lower frame confirms that it is a cruiser aimed towards comfort. This surely appears to be an entry range cruiser which we expect to come under a new brand which will get unveiled within this quarter.
The engine can be expected to be borrowed from the Avenger Street 150 and we do not see it using the more modern motor from the AS150. This twin spark DTS-i mill produces 14.54 PS of maximum power at 9,000 rpm and 12.5 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm on the Avenger but they may detune it on this new cruiser.
