The Pulsar NS400Z has finally been equipped with the 350cc engine at a significantly lower price than the preceding model with 373cc engine
Bajaj Auto has officially launched the Pulsar NS400Z with a 350cc engine at a sticker price of Rs 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) in the Indian market. The company claims that the introduction of the downsized 350cc engine in the motorcycle ensures that it attracts 18 percent GST and hence by unlocking savings of up to Rs 24,500 on the final on-road pricing. Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z is the brand’s flagship model and it shares the 350cc mill with the Dominar 400, which went on sale a few days back at Rs 2.03 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Apart from the 350cc engine, the Pulsar NS400Z remains the same in terms of aesthetics and features. It continues to come loaded with premium features in the form of multiple ride modes, quick shifter, traction control, dual channel ABS, radial tyres and a Bluetooth connected console. The dealer dispatch of the new bike has already commenced as it was spotted at a Bajaj showroom last month.
Bajaj Auto states that due to the 350cc engine, the Pulsar NS400Z will be available at reduced upfront costs as well as overall ownership expenses. This includes lower ex-showroom price, savings on insurance, and subsequently much lesser registration cost. Earlier, the motorcycle was retailed at an ex-showroom (Delhi) price of Rs 1.93 lakh with the 373cc engine.

The newly-developed 349cc single-cylinder liquid cooled engine develops top power of 40 bhp at 9000 rpm while having a power to weight ratio of 247 bhp per ton. It will produce peak torque of 33.2 Nm at 7500 rpm while paired to a 6-speed gearbox. As compared to the 373cc engine, the power and torque have dropped by 2.4 bhp and 1.8 Nm, respectively.
Speaking on the announcement, Sarang Kanade, President – Motorcycles Business Unit, Bajaj Auto Ltd. said, “The Pulsar NS has always stood for accessible performance and bold riding experiences. With the new Pulsar NS400Z powered by a 349cc engine, we are taking a significant step towards making high-performance motorcycling more attainable. By passing on the benefits of lower ownership costs, including the 18% GST advantage, we are delivering the same thrilling NS experience with a more compelling value proposition. This reinforces our commitment to making Pulsar more inclusive, relevant, and ‘Definitely Daring’ for today’s riders.”

Previously, there used to be a uniform GST on two-wheelers at 28 percent, irrespective of their engine displacement. However, things changed in Sep 2025 when the Indian government rolled out the GST 2.0 with changes in tax slabs on two-wheelers, depending on the engine capacity. This exercise led to the increased GST on bikes with engine capacity above 350cc from the existing 28 percent to 40 percent and the Pulsar NS400Z was also affected by this.
