After Two Months, Bajaj Sees BIG Drop in Exports: July Sales

Bajaj July 2020 sales: Looks like the company shipped more than the demand in the first two months after lockdown; hence the equaling out in the subsequent month.

Over the past two months in May and June 2020, Bajaj was the only two-wheeler manufacturer to arrest the decline in sales, as it exports almost half of its produce. While the domestic demand was sluggish, Bajaj was seeing strong momentum in its international markets.

The two-wheeler exports by the company offset the domestic declines so well that it temporarily occupied the numero-uno spot in total sales figures in May, and came second in June 2020.

However, now when things are seemingly returning to normalcy in terms of sales numbers, the Pune-based automaker is back to its usual number 4 spot. It has ceded the top rankings to Hero, Honda, and TVS, in the same order.

Talking about the sales numbers, Bajaj Auto sold a total of 1,52,474 units of its motorcycles in the domestic market in July 2020 as compared to 1,70,978 units of July 2019. It translates to a drop of 11% in sales numbers.
