The Avengers will also go to the BS6 regime and specs of the 220 have been revealed through a leaked ARAI document.
According to the doc, Bajaj will continue selling the Avenger 220 in two variants – Cruise and Street. The motorcycle is listed to produce 14 Kw (19.03 PS) of peak power at 8400 rpm. This means that it has retained the power figures and there is no drop and they come exactly at the same rpm as well. The updated engine is expected to be equipped with fuel injection.
Torque numbers have not been listed. For reference the current Avenger 220 churns 17.5 Nm at 7000 rpm. The kerb weights have risen to 160 and 163 kilos respective for the Street and Cruise variants, which will have a negligible impact on the power to weight ratio of the motorcycles.

The current Avenger 220s are priced at Rs 1,05,088 ex-showroom in Delhi and the updated models are expected be dearer by around Rs 10,000-12,000. Considering that Bajaj hasn’t added a lot of features or colours to its already announced BS6 motorcycles, we do not expect the 2020 Avengers to get many as well. It should be launched within the coming few days.
