Fact Check: Has Aprilia Listed Tuono 125 on Its Indian Website Now?

Aprilia Tuono 125 Indian launch plans? The motorcycle is indeed on the official website but let us try and check the ‘newness’ of this update…

Out of nowhere few online portals are reporting that Aprilia has listed Tuono 125 on its Indian website. And then there obviously is all that gupshup about its Indian launch plans, etc. We also verified the word and the baby Tuono is, indeed, listed on Aprilia’s Indian webpage, along with many other big motorcycles like the RS4 siblings, Tuono 1100s, Caponord range, Dorsoduro etc.

What is Tuono 125?

Aprilia sells its semi faired sports tourers under the ‘Tuono’ brand name in the world. The 125 is the smallest Tuono in the range and as its name suggests, it sports a high performance 125cc engine which gets technology like 4-valves, liquid cooling, fuel injection, double overhead campshaft (DOHC), etc. It produces around 15 PS of peak power and 11 Nm of max torque. A great recipe for a Duke/RC125 rival then?

But that is where your excitement should end because we can confirm that Tuono 125 has been on Aprilia’s Indian website for the last many years. In fact, according to the Wayback machine (which archives older web pages), Tuono 125 has been on the website at least since August 2017 ie much before the 2018 Auto Expo, when Aprilia unveiled the RS150 and Tuono 150 concepts in India.

So, this is a confirmation that the Tuono 125’s listing on the website is not new and since the baby Tuono has been on it for the last many years, there is no new development on the motorcycle – and there do not appear to be any fresh chances of its Indian arrival anytime soon.
