Aprilia SXR160 launch will give India its second maxi-scooter after Suzuki Burgman Street (which is also confirmed with a 150cc engine).
So far it has been a very dull Auto Expo specifically in terms of two-wheelers. Suzuki and Piaggio are the only two major participants this time. However, Piaggio brought some excitement to the show by unveiling Aprilia’s new Maxi Scooter which will be called as SXR 160.
SXR 160 is a production-ready model and looks very interesting. Suzuki introduced India’s first Maxi Scooter – the Burgman Street and has confirmed it with a bigger 150cc engine as well. Aprilia is calling its SXR as a Crossmax styling.
SXR will be sold with a 125cc engine, in addition to the 160cc engine, like the SR range. Piaggio informs that this scooter was developed in Italy, specifically for India to create a new category.
It will come equipped with features like Twin LED headlamp, LED tail lamp, eyeline DRLs, bigger lit underseat storage space, split glove box, USB charging at the front, all digital instrument cluster with mileage indicator, 12 inch alloy wheels etc.
Aprilia SXR160 Launch
Piaggio has announced that bookings of the Aprilia SXR160 will commence online from August 2020 and a launch in September is very much possible.
SXR 160 will be sold in four colours – White, Black, Red and Blue along with official accessories like mobile docking system and Aprilia branded merchandise.
