Aprilia 660s Will be ‘Expensive’; Bookings Open in India

Aprilia RS660 bookings are open at company’s dealerships. CEO has shared the timelines of deliveries but with an alarm…

Aprilia is getting ready to venture into the mid capacity with its RS660 and Tuono 660 twins. Both the Italians look smashing and will be very interesting offerings in this segment.

The good news is that bookings have commenced in India according to a revelation from Diego Graffi, CEO and MD of Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd, in an interview to a media portal. He said that its dealers are now taking bookings of these models. This is to gauge customer response. He added that they will start deliveries sometime in the second half of this year. Imports (as CBUs) will be from Europe.

And the not-so-good news is that Graffi has clarified that these models will be ‘expensive’. He elaborates that they will be ‘more expensive than normal’. Now this simply means that we can expect very hefty price tags to these models when they arrive in the country.

The full faired RS660 and the semi-faired Tuono 660 tourer are powered by a 669cc, parallel twin engine that pumps out 100 and 95 horses respectively.

On the smaller motorcycle front, Aprilia has shelved the 150 project that was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. Instead, it is preparing near 300cc model(s) that have been promised to offer ‘never seen before’ performance. You can read more details on that here.
