Honda QC1 comes with a 1.5 kWh fixed battery pack which returns a modest range of 80 km on a single charge
Honda has unveiled the all-new QC1 electric scooter alongside the electric version of the Activa in the Indian market. The basic difference between the QC1 and Activa e: is of battery pack as the former gets a fixed battery while the latter comes with two swappable battery units. Honda QC1 bookings will commence from January 1, 2025 across the country while deliveries will be initially started in select cities from February 2025 onwards. The QC1 price could be announced at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in Jan 2025.
Honda QC1 e-scooter flaunts LED headlamp and tail-lamp alongside the clear winkers. Identical to the Activa EV, it is also offered in five colour options namely Pearl Serenity Blue, Pearl Misty White, Matt Foggy Silver Metallic, Pearl Igneous Black, and Pearl Shallow Blue. The notable features on-board are classy rear-view mirrors, USB Type-C Smartphone charging socket, 26-litre under-seat storage box and a sturdy grab rail.
Honda has equipped the QC1 with a 5.0-inch allinfo LCD display which provides all the information regarding the vehicle to the rider. The e-scooter will be sold via Honda authorised dealers in the domestic market. Developed locally at the company’s Narsapura production facility near Bengaluru, it gets 3 years or 50,000 km warranty as standard. In addition, Honda is offering three free services for the first year. The buyers will also be provided with free roadside assistance for the first year.
The QC1 houses a fixed battery pack of 1.5 kWh which returns a range of 80 km on a single charge. For charging the e-scooter at home, Honda has rolled out a 330-watt off-board charger which boasts of an auto-cut technology to ensure safe charging. The home charger takes nearly 4 hours 30 minutes to charge the battery from 0-80 percent while charging it upto 100 percent requires minimum 6 hours and 50 minutes.
Honda QC1 electric scooter is packed with an in-wheel electric motor which delivers maximum power of 2.4 bhp and peak torque of 77 Nm. It has a top speed of 50kmph while offered with two riding modes namely Standard and Econ. The suspension duties are carried by telescopic forks at front and dual springs at the rear. It comes with drum brakes at front as well as rear.
The QC1 sprints to 40kmph from standstill in just 9.7 secs. Tipping the scale at 89.5 kg, it features a 12-inch front alloy wheel and 10-inch rear wheel, identical to the petrol-powered Activa. Honda QC1 is presented as a mass-market electric scooter and it will directly rival Ola S1 Z which was launched recently at Rs 59,999 in the market. However, we do not expect Honda to price it equally aggressively.
