Royal Enfield Himalayan 440 is just days away from its highly-anticipated debut on Sep 4, 2026 in the Indian market. However, ahead of the official launch, the upcoming adventure bike has been spotted at a dealer stockyard. Although the spied unit is partially covered, we get to see the first glimpse of several prominent elements of the Himalayan 440, including the analogue-digital instrument cluster with Tripper Navigation pod. It is likely to be positioned between the Scram 440 and Himalayan 450 in RE portfolio in India.
First things first, Royal Enfield Himalayan 440 gets an analogue speedometer with a small LCD screen for other important information, which is presented in digital format to the riders. The tripper navigation pod is also there and we believe it might be offered as an option rather than a standard fitment. The Himalayan 440 is said to be the spiritual successor to the Himalayan 411 which was discontinued in late 2023.
We can also spot round bar-end mirrors, windscreen and hazard lamps switch in the spy images. In addition, the rear profile of the Himalayan 440 appears to be quite sleek with traditional turn indicators and halogen bulbs. The Himalayan 440 will miss out on ride modes and traction control. It is not likely to pack multiple premium features, except the switchable ABS and Tripper navigation pod.
The adventure motorcycle will use the same platform and engine as the Scram 440, but styling will be inspired by the Himalayan 411. We can expect the upcoming Himalayan 440 to have a relatively lower seat height while being highly affordable than the Himalayan 450. It will ride on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, which are shod with tubed dual-purpose tyres.
The cross-spoke wheels with tubeless tyres will not be available with the Himalayan 440 as they will take away the affordability factor. The adventure motorcycle will use the same platform and engine as the Scram 440. The overall design will be heavily influenced by the original Himalayan 411, albeit with premium colours and modern graphics. The same LED headlamp setup is likely to be offered with the upcoming adventure bike, as we see in the latest RE motorcycles.
At the heart, the 443cc single-cylinder air/oil-cooled engine from the Scram 440 will be carried over with a 6-speed gearbox. Internally codenamed as D4G, the Himalayan 440 is expected to be priced around 2.50-2.70 lakh (ex-showroom). Needless to mention, the front and rear suspension travel is going to be longer to accommodate off-roading.
