The 125cc automatic scooter segment can be considered as a niche segment here in India where the Access has been ruling the roost. But now, with the launch of Activa 125, things will definitely be tougher for the Suzuki!
Does the new Activa 125, which will see the Mahindra Rodeo, Suzuki Swish 125 and Access 125 as its prime competitors, has it in it to be the best? Here’s a quick comparo to give you a few answers…

The new Activa 125 is the most powerful scooter here and its high torque figures will help a lot specially when you have heavier load to lug around (No! we do not mean heavy GFs ;)). It is also the longest of the four.
The metal body, digital odometer, optional disc brakes and a larger 12 inches rim for the front wheel, add up to make the Activa a great buy for sure. The products from Suzuki’s stable have begun to age. The Access did get an SE variant but the extra chrome does not get it much brownie points.
Rodeo with its seven coloured fully digital console, front fuel refuelling, mobile charger and great under seat storage is a good alternative and is the cheapest as well but it is not the best of quality!
Honda has priced the Activa (standard) right between the Access and Swish with the disc brake loaded variant coming in at a higher premium. We can not really claim a winner here till we get our hands on the Activa 125 but the specs do tilt in the favour of the Honda! And guess the scenario when Hero will join with its 125cc DARE!
Which one will you prefer, then?
