The Italian two-wheeler maker will bring the Dragster 300, Dragster 459 and Dragster 700 to India through Motohaus
Italian two-wheeler manufacturer Italjet is preparing to enter the Indian market, with Motohaus India confirming that the brand will be officially unveiled at India Bike Week on December 4 and 5, 2026. The initial India lineup will comprise three models: the Dragster 300, Dragster 459 and Dragster 700.
All three motorcycles will be assembled at Motohaus India’s manufacturing facility in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. Customer deliveries are expected to begin in the second quarter of 2027. Prices, India-specific specifications and the detailed launch schedule will be announced at a later date.
The arrival of Italjet should bring a rather different proposition to India’s premium two-wheeler market. The Italian brand is known for its unconventional designs, exposed mechanical components and distinctive chassis layouts. Its Dragster range, in particular, has built its identity around making the engineering part of the visual appeal rather than hiding it behind conventional bodywork.

The entry point to the planned lineup will be the Dragster 300. Internationally, it uses a 278 cc liquid-cooled engine and gets an exposed trellis frame along with Italjet’s Independent Steering System (ISS). The scooter has an unconventional chassis architecture and an aggressive design that sets it apart from regular maxi-scooters.
Moving up the range is the Dragster 459, which gets a 449 cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC parallel-twin engine in its international specification. It also features Italjet’s SmartShift technology, allowing the rider to use automatic operation or take manual-style control through paddle shifters mounted on the handlebars.

At the top of the planned India range will be the Dragster 700. It is powered by a 698 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. An exposed tubular steel trellis frame is another defining feature of this larger performance-oriented model. These are international specifications. Motohaus has not yet confirmed whether the Indian versions will receive any changes.
Motohaus will initially focus on seven markets: Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Pune, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi and Hyderabad. The company plans to establish dedicated Italjet Experience Centres rather than rely solely on conventional multi-brand dealerships. These outlets are expected to offer product specialists, customer engagement activities and dedicated after-sales support.

Interested buyers will be able to register on the official Italjet India waitlist through the Motohaus website from December 2026.
