TVS Orbiter Makes European Debut With Removable Batteries

The European-spec Orbiter gets cruise control, reverse assist, a 34-litre underseat storage compartment and connected features with onboard LTE

TVS Motor Company has unveiled the European-specification Orbiter electric scooter at EICMA 2026 in Milan. Positioned as a practical electric scooter for everyday urban commuting, the Orbiter will be offered with two battery options, allowing buyers to choose between a lower-cost, shorter-range version and a larger battery for longer journeys.

The smaller 1.8 kWh battery has an expected range of 70 km, while the 3.1 kWh version is expected to deliver 105 km on the European WMTC cycle. Both use NMC lithium-ion battery technology and are paired with a hub-mounted brushless DC motor rated at 1.85 kW and peaking at 2.9 kW. The claimed top speed is 45 kmph. These are provisional figures based on TVS’ pre-homologation specifications. Final performance and range figures may change following homologation.

The Orbiter comes with a 550 W charger that can be used with a household socket. TVS claims a 0-80% charging time of 2 hours and 39 minutes for the 1.8 kWh battery, while the larger 3.1 kWh unit takes 4 hours and 33 minutes. Both versions are listed with removable batteries, although TVS says this feature is subject to homologation confirmation. TVS will also offer an optional charging dock.

The scooter gets a 34-litre underseat storage compartment, a 760 mm seat height and an upright riding position. It rides on a 14-inch front alloy wheel and a 12-inch rear wheel, with telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers. Braking is handled by a 220 mm front disc and a 130 mm rear drum, supported by a combined braking system.

A 5-inch colour LCD instrument cluster brings Bluetooth connectivity through TVS SmartXonnect. The system supports turn-by-turn navigation, call alerts and distance-to-empty information. Onboard LTE adds live vehicle tracking, geofencing, crash and fall alerts, anti-theft alerts and over-the-air updates. Hill Hold, Cruise Mode and Reverse Assist are also part of the package. The Orbiter gets a Crystal LED headlamp, LED indicators and an LED tail lamp. European launch colours include Lunar Grey and Stratos Blue.
