Bajaj Pulsar N125 Discontinued in India, New Model Coming in 2027?

The current-gen Pulsar N125 has been axed from the Indian market due to limited sales numbers as we await an all-new model by early 2027

Bajaj Auto has discontinued the Pulsar N125 in the Indian market. Despite the bike still listed on the official company website, we have learnt that the dealer dispatches have been completely terminated in our country. However, the production is still going on as the Pulsar N125 is also exported to multiple global markets such as Nepal, Peru, Colombia, and Morocco among many others. Recently, a test mule of the heavily updated 2027 Pulsar N125 was spotted testing with heavy camouflage which is likely to replace the recently phased out model in near future.

Bajaj Pulsar N125 was originally launched in Oct 2024 in the Indian market. However, the company has to axe it in less than two years due to poor sales numbers. The Pulsar N125 was rolled out on an all-new platform which was not shared with any other motorcycle in the Pulsar range. Further, it debuted a new engine and was among the lightest Pulsars ever made at only 125 kg.

The N125 design was also not in line with the traditional Pulsars as the styling was carried out in a rather unusual (in a good way, though) manner. However, the sleek look was not appreciated by the buyers in India as they favoured the rival models such as Hero Xtreme 125R and Honda CB125 Hornet as both of these had massive road presence with sportiness.

One more reason behind the failure of Pulsar N125 in the Indian market was the limited feature set. It even missed out on a TFT instrument cluster and ABS, which are considered as basic bells and whistles in a 125cc performance bike today. Hence, the buyers preferred the rival bikes from Hero and Honda over the Pulsar N125 as both of them come equipped with advanced features.

The 2027 Pulsar N125 is likely to debut in the last quarter of FY27 (Jan-Mar 2027) in the domestic market as a part of Bajaj’s aggressive expansion plans. The spy images showed that it will be bigger, up-market and sharper than the preceding model. The most prominent update will be at the front fascia as it undergoes a complete overhaul including a massive headlamp cowl and restyled body panels.

Some of the noticeable updates in the 2027 Pulsar N125 include split-seat setup, fresh set of rear grab rails, fully enclosed chain cover, upright riding position, telescopic front forks and rear monoshock suspension. The latest iteration of the motorcycle rides on front and rear alloy wheels while stopping power is expected to come from front disc and rear drum units as standard.
